It was a GREAT Summer; Welcome Fall!
It was a very busy summer this year, with singing the National Anthem for both the WNBA New York Liberty and for the Staten Island Yankees, in addition to a offering a wonderful vocal workshop at the Mozartina Conservatory of Music, where I am on the voice faculty.
But the real highlight of the season was that I was thrilled to both produce and star in (Magda Sorel) a beautiful production of famed American composer, Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera, The Consul at the Hudson River Museum amphitheater in Yonkers. We used this production to tackle the current immigration debate, and to explore how we can use the arts to achieve social justice. Directed by famed opera director, Nancy Rhodes of Encompass New Opera Theater, it was an evening of music “under the star” that I will never forget.
Now, here’s looking to fall, where this weekend, I’ll perform a special concert of music loved by Washington Irving and performed by his nieces at Sunnyside. Keep checking the calendar for upcoming performances and engagements. I look forward to seeing you in the audience soon!
